Baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision to follow Christ, and a pretty powerful act of obedience. Matthew 28: 19-20 calls us (as believers; as the Church) to Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…
Being baptized doesn’t mean someone has faith all figured out; it just means they’ve committed to taking many more steps toward Jesus, and seek to honor Him with his/her life. It’s an amazing chance to get up in front of family, friends and the local church to say “Yes! I’ve decided! I will follow Christ!” And it’s a pretty incredible thing to witness! Whether you’re considering being baptized (congratulations!), or you just want to take it all in, we hope you’ll celebrate baptisms with us.
